is committed to a slower economy

The Coastal Research & Ecucation organisation was set up to enable environmentally neutral sea transport, fair trade fishing and awareness-raising research. In short:

• • Fair fishing
  • Fair sea transport
  • Research into the health of coastal waters
  • Educational trips for awareness

Our means of transport is RV Ayaz, which is a ketch rigged sailing vessel traditionally used for freight transport in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea.

We breathe new life into that:

• Transport by water using just the wind.  Only sustainable non fresh products! We move slow remember…
  Ayaz has succesfully taken as cargo olive-oil, wine and wooden products from the Meditterranean to Northern Europe.
• At the same time, we introduce landlubbers to maritime nature by taking them as crew to the sensitive coastal waters of the Mediterranean, Atlantic, North Sea and Baltic Sea.
• Fair fishing. If fishing permits are required for recreational fishing, we will have them.
  Recreational fishing follows the European Union policy of the CFP COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 1224/2009
  of which the most important CHAPTER V. Control of recreational fisheries: Article 55 – Recreational fisheries:  (..) 2. The marketing of catches from recreational fisheries shall be prohibited.
• We are open to discuss your scientific, sustainable or similar project in coastal waters between 37º and 60º latitude including the following countries: Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland and the Baltic States.
